Questions

Answers for planners and the people helping them

We are a couple. Do we need two plans?

Usually one plan with two sets of signatures. A couple’s will package has a matching will for each of you, and a trust can be written for both.

I own property in another state. Can you help?

Our lawyers are admitted in Arizona. We tell you when property elsewhere needs a lawyer there, and we coordinate with them.

Where do we keep the originals?

At home in a fireproof box or with us. We tell you which suits each document, and we put the answer in your binder.

What should I bring to the planning call?

A rough list of what you own, the names of the people you want to include, and any older will or trust. Nothing needs to be exact.

Can my adult children join the call?

Yes, if you want them there. They can listen, ask questions and see the drafts, as long as you are the one making the decisions.

Do you write special needs trusts or handle Medicaid applications?

Not as flat-fee packages. We tell you when a plan needs one, and refer you to a lawyer who focuses on it.

Is what I tell you confidential?

Once you are a client, yes. Before that, please keep details off the website form and share them on the call.

What happens if I make no plan?

State law decides who inherits and a court appoints who acts. A plan lets you choose instead, and it is easy to change later.

Not on the list?

Ask us. A short question gets a short answer, usually the same business day.
